Optimal Waveform Generation using Genetic Algorithms
As a Taste of Research Scholar at UNSW, I was tasked with developing a genetic algorithm to find optimal stimulation waveforms for nerve fibre selectivity. In this, I used a nerve simulation platform called NEURON, as well as python to develop the genetic algorithm itself. From each epoch, the parameters of a stimulator's spike train was tweaked according to a fitness function in order to approach the best waveform.
